A sound bath is an immersive experience that uses various instruments — often crystal singing bowls — to create calming vibrations and soundscapes. These vibrations promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing.

Sound baths — also called sound healing — are an ancient wellness practice used for centuries in many cultures worldwide. Sound healing is gaining scientific attention for its potential to promote relaxation and wellbeing. Studies suggest it may activate the parasympathetic nervous system, leading to slower breathing, lower blood pressure, and possibly improved digestion.

Sound baths have been shown to offer a variety of benefits, including:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Enhanced mood and wellbeing
  • Increased focus and clarity
  • Promoted deep relaxation
  • Pain relief

The session begins with a brief guided meditation or breathwork practice, gently preparing your mind and body for a profound sense of calm. Participants are invited to settle comfortably in a seated or lying-down position as the practitioner plays crystal singing bowls and chimes* that fill the space with calming frequencies, creating a truly immersive soundscape.

Falling asleep during a sound bath is a common and perfectly normal experience. It's a sign that your body is deeply relaxed.

While sound baths can be a helpful tool for meditation, they aren't the same. Meditation typically involves focusing on your breath or a mantra, whereas a sound bath allows you to receive vibrations passively. However, both practices can lead to feelings of relaxation and inner peace.

Sessions are typically 60 minutes.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. Layers are also recommended, as your body temperature may fluctuate during the session.

We provide mats, chairs, bolsters, and blankets (at some locations) for your comfort. However, you are welcome to bring your yoga mat, blanket, eye mask, pillow, and water bottle to personalize your experience. For reflection after the sound bath, consider getting a notepad and pen for journaling.

Sound baths are a gentle and accessible practice suitable for most people. However, it's always best to consult your doctor before attending a session if you have any concerns.

While sound baths are generally safe for most people, there are a few precautions and contraindications to be aware of:

  • Pregnancy — Sound baths are generally considered safe, but some may prefer to consult their doctor beforehand, especially during the first and third trimesters.
  • Pacemakers and other electronic implants — The vibrations from sound baths are unlikely to interfere with pacemakers or other implanted devices. However, it's always best to consult your doctor before attending a session if you have any concerns.
  • Epilepsy — In rare cases, specific sound frequencies may trigger seizures in people with epilepsy. If you have epilepsy, speak with your doctor before attending a sound bath session.
  • Mental health conditions — Sound baths can be a helpful tool for relaxation and stress reduction, which may benefit those with mental health conditions. However, if you have concerns, talk to your doctor or therapist before attending a session.
  • Recent surgery or injuries — If you've recently had surgery or sustained an injury, it's advisable to consult with your doctor before participating in a sound bath to ensure it won't disrupt your healing process.
  • Sensitivity to sound — A sound bath may be overwhelming if you have a heightened sensitivity to sound. If you participate, consider using earplugs or sitting further away from the sound source. If you wear hearing aids, some adjustments might be necessary for your comfort.

The frequency of your sound bath sessions is entirely up to you. Some people enjoy attending weekly, while others prefer a more occasional experience. Experiment and see what works best for you.
