Frequently Asked Questions
The Y of the North is a nonprofit organization whose mission relies on donor support. With help from our partners, we increase access to resources and opportunities. Together, we can do even more to support our communities.
Just as we ask our members, program participants, alumni, and community partners for financial contributions, we turn to our colleagues and ask for an annual donation of any size.
No matter the gift size, when we come together and support the parts of our mission that matter most to each of us individually, we create a tidal wave of impact across the many communities we serve.
Can I donate to a location that is different from where I work?
Absolutely! Give to what matters most to you. You can direct your donation to 46 areas.
Can I donate to multiple locations?
Yes. You can use the comments section within the online giving form, write your request on your gift remit, or note your preferences using the multiple designation fields in WorkForce.
You can also email giving@ymcamn.org with your designation request, and we will take care of the rest.
Online Donations

Mail-In Donations
Turn in a staff giving remit envelope to your team lead, or stamp it and drop it in the mail.
Annual Fund donations are unrestricted financial support that goes where the needs are greatest. While we use the donations to each of our 46 Annual Funds differently, financial assistance is a consistent need across programs and locations.
You will receive communications throughout the year, letting you know how your donation makes a difference in real-time and shedding light on the greatest needs.
