Introduce your little one to the joy of horseback riding with Camp Ihduhapi’s Parent-Child Horseback Riding Lessons! Designed for children ages 4-6, this engaging five-week program provides a fun and supportive environment where young riders can begin their equestrian journey with the guidance of both a skilled instructor and their parent/guardian.
Throughout the lesson session, children will gain confidence in the saddle while learning the fundamentals of horse safety, care, and the basics of independent riding. The kids aren’t the only ones learning and participating, though— parent/guardians will also learn basic horse handling skills and to help lead their students during riding activities. With this hands-on parent/guardian involvement, riders receive gentle support as they build balance, coordination, and trust with their horse.
Each lesson includes:
- Horse Safety & Handling: Understanding how to approach, lead, and interact with horses.
- Basic Horse Care: Grooming, tacking up, and learning about horse behavior.
- Foundations of Riding: Proper posture, balance, steering, and stopping—all with assistance to help build confidence.
No prior horse experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a love for adventure!
