Boys and Young Men of Color (BYMOC) is an empowering strategy designed to foster positive change for boys and young men of color, nurturing their potential and shaping their futures.

Through the unwavering support of caring adults and practical strategies, we aim to inspire and transform these individuals, equipping them with the tools and confidence to navigate life's challenges. Together, we are cultivating a nurturing environment that celebrates and uplifts boys and young men of color, fostering a belief in their limitless possibilities.

Ensuring Equitable Outcomes

The BYMOC Strategy ensures equitable outcomes for boys and young men of color ages 11-17 by removing systemic barriers, providing relevant services and support systems, and creating nurturing environments that promote confidence and growth.

  • 70% of BYMOC will have stabilized and improved their grades by reducing suspensions & improving attendance.

  • 100% of BYMOC will have completed pre- and post-social/emotional self-assessments.

  • By 9th grade, BYMOC will have access to high-quality post-secondary and career pathways.

Strategic Focus

Why we focus on boys and young men of color for three simple reasons:

  • They are twice as likely to grow up in poverty.
  • They are more likely to live in neighborhoods of concentrated poverty.
  • They are more likely to fall into poverty as adults, regardless of background.
