Getting started
Before you can start using the Y, you need to review a virtual orientation. An e-mail link will be sent to the youth and parent email addresses on file in the evening following registration, or you can read through it below – return to this page after registering. This orientation needs to be completed before entering the facility.
Before you head into the YMCA, please read through this orientation (Hmong, Russian, Somali, Spanish) so you feel prepared on your first visit. This short slide deck will give you information about what you can access with your new membership!
Also, on your first visit you will have your photo taken. Please bring a photo ID, preferably a school-issued student ID, for verification.
For parents/guardians of youths ages 10-14
Parents/Guardians of Youths ages 10-14 are now required to sign off the youth has completed orientation (available virtually or in person by appointment) before membership is active. Youth age 15+ have full access to the fitness center and are strongly encouraged to complete orientation.
The fine print
There are max number of free memberships per Y location available this summer, so be sure to sign up early. If you’re currently a Y member, or have been a Y member within the last 60 days, you’re not eligible for a free Get Summer membership. Available free memberships varies per location.
YMCA membership includes agreeing to policies designed to help everyone feel good about being a part of the Y. Get Summer participants are expected to abide by these polices including the code of conduct.

Can I use my summer membership at any location (Get it at branch A but go with a friend to branch B)?
Yes. You may visit any of the 19 locations in the Twin Cities and Hudson, WI.

Membership will run June 3 – August 31, 2024.
*Free membership is available from June 3 - August 31, 2024 for teens entering grades 9-12 who have not had a YMCA membership within the past 60 days. Limited memberships available per location.
