Meet Team Widjiwagan
Ben Hoffman, Executive Director
I am the Executive Director of Camp Widjiwagan and I am responsible for the overall vision, fundraising, board management, and operations of Camp. I believe in the power of overnight Camping for an individual's transformative growth as a leader. I have committed my career and personal life to experiential education. I have a deep passion and professional experience in wilderness tripping, I seek to ensure that the organization's day-to-day activities resonate with our mission and vision. I have an adventurous family who loves to paddle, hike, climb, and be outside whenever possible!
Audrey Jerome, Summer Program Director
I oversee Widjiwagan’s summer programing, which includes all our canoeing and backpacking excursions throughout the US and Canada. My focus is on equipping our staff team to lead, our campers to grow and be resilient, and camper’s families to know what to anticipate about a Widji trail experience. Get in touch with me if you have questions about working the summer season at Widjiwagan or how to best prepare for one of our trips.
Henry Hark, Fall, Winter, & Spring Program Director
I oversee the Outdoor Learning Program, which brings schools from all over Minnesota and beyond to Widjiwagan for a week of environmental education and adventure in the Northwoods. I also help various organizations plan retreats, conferences, and weekends of environmental education, adventure, and relaxation.
Brent Saxton, Wilderness Program Director
I manage the trip logistics, risk management and operations of our summer tripping program. Feel free to give me a call if you have questions related to trip logistics, the policies and procedures our staff follow on our wilderness trips, or concerns about a medical condition and how we can best support your camper.
Maureen (Mo) Martin, Business Administrative Coordinator
My name is Maureen (Mo) Martin and I support Menogyn and Widjiwagan as the Business Administrative Coordinator from St. Paul. I am passionate about getting youth on wilderness experiences and have experienced the magic firsthand starting as a Menogyn camper in 1997 and working on the summer and full-time staff in the 2000s. I hold a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Education from the University of Minnesota. When not tackling spreadsheets and databases for wilderness camps, I can be found wrangling my kids, cross country skiing, or planning our next family BWCA trip.
